Fishing Mako

The Halfback is a consistent producer of makos. Mako fishing is a predominant activity around the world and very popular in Montauk, New York. As one of the fastest species in the water they offer acrobatic flips, fast runs, and heavy fights that entertain anglers. Traditionally the sharks are hooked through the use of chum and baitcasters.

Mako taste:

Mako shark is moist and slightly sweet, with a full-bodied, meaty taste. Both flavor and texture are similar to swordfish, but the flesh of the mako is moister, and the meat is not as sweet.

The Halfback with Captain Art have been fishing the waters around Montauk since 1990.
